STV is seeking an experiencedSenior Inspector to join our rail/transit construction management practice in the New York Metropolitan area.

The Senior Inspector will support the rail/transit COE CM practice in New York by providing hands-on inspection, quality assurance, and technical oversight of traction power and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct field inspections of traction power and electrical systems, including motor generators and substations.

  • Oversee construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities on rail/transit electrical systems.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.

  • Work closely with resident engineers, project managers, and operations personnel to ensure timely project delivery.

  • Mentor and advance staff by providing technical guidance and training.

  • Assist with client management and communication to ensure responsiveness and satisfaction.

  • Participate in project pursuits, including proposal development and client presentations.

  • Review and interpret civil, electrical, and mechanical drawings for field execution.

  • Manage work scope, budgets, schedules, and general estimating practices.

  • Ensure adherence to NYCTA engineering standards, Federal Railroad Administration Roadway Worker Safety regulations, and OSHA safety standards.

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of Railroad and traction power experience, with expertise in motor generators, traction power substations, and related electrical systems.

  • Proven ability to coordinate multi-discipline teams and complex construction activities.

  • Strong technical, project coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of NYCTA power requirements, construction practices, and engineering specifications.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Ability to obtain Roadway Worker Protection training.

  • Valid NY driver's license.

Desirable Skills:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Hands-on experience with NYCTA traction power and motor generator systems.

  • Prior experience performing Code Compliance Inspections for NYCTA.

  • Experience with design-build projects for motor generators or DC traction power substations.

  • OSHA Safety Certification.

    Compensation Range:

    $95,435.00 - $127,247.00
