About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Maintenance Planner to lead the setup and day-to-day operation of our site tool crib and maintenance storeroom. This role is responsible for establishing inventory controls, standard processes, and material flow to ensure tools, parts, and consumables are readily available to support preventive and corrective maintenance.

In addition, the Maintenance Planner will support maintenance planning and scheduling activities through effective use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), partnering closely with site maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment uptime, work execution, and overall operational efficiency.

This is a temporary, 6-month assignment focused on establishing and stabilizing the site tool crib and related maintenance processes. The role is designed to deliver defined outcomes within a set timeframe and may conclude at the end of the 6-month period based on business needs.

Location: Whitesboro, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage the site tool crib, ensuring timely availability, accurate tracking, and proper storage of tools, parts, and consumables to support preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Issue, receive, and control tools and materials; maintain accurate inventory and transaction records within the CMMS.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventories; monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment of critical spare parts and tooling.
  • Receive and verify incoming materials and tooling, ensuring accuracy, certification, shelf-life control, and compliance with aerospace requirements.
  • Maintain full material and tooling traceability, including lot/serial numbers and associated documentation, to support audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage tool condition and calibration status; segregate and report damaged or out-of-calibration tools.
  • Prepare maintenance kits and ensure required parts, tools, and documentation are available for scheduled work.
  • Partner with site leadership to implement, maintain, and continuously improve the CMMS, including workflows, asset data, preventive maintenance schedules, and inventory records.
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work orders based on equipment criticality, labor availability, materials, and production needs.
  • Create and maintain maintenance job plans, including safety requirements, tools, and parts lists.
  • Generate CMMS reports and metrics to track maintenance performance, inventory usage, and equipment reliability.
  • Provide CMMS user support and training for maintenance and operations personnel.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, procurement, and IT to improve maintenance execution and system effectiveness.
  • Support safety, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive reliability and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Maintenance, Engineering or similar -OR- in lieu of a degree, 5 years of maintenance support experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background supporting maintenance operations in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including interaction with maintenance technicians, planners, or operations teams.
  • Hands-on experience establishing, organizing, or managing a tool crib, maintenance storeroom, or parts inventory, including process definition and standard work.
  • Strong organizational and process-improvement skills, with the ability to create clear, repeatable workflows for material control, kitting, and tool management.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance concepts and maintenance workflows (preferred, not required to have owned PM programs).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for tracking inventory, analyzing usage trends, and supporting reporting needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across maintenance, operations, procurement, and leadership teams, including basic training or user support.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, traceability, and compliance in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position may require occasional site visits to facilities, equipment, or production areas.
  • Standard office hours with flexibility for second and third shift training and support, off-hour maintenance needs or emergency situations.
