TDS Telecom has a great opportunity for an IT Intern - Order Operations. If you are a hardworking and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment, this internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT operations and business process analysis. This remote role offers scheduling flexibility, with a minimum of 25 hours per week during core business hours of 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Central (35-40 hours preferred as your schedule allows). The duration of this internship is expected to be year-round.

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be $17/hour.

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

Responsibilities

As an IT Intern - Order Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are completed quickly and correctly. In this role, you will review daily reports of aging or at-risk orders, investigate those that require attention, and work with process owners and partner teams to move them forward. You will document your findings, summarize trends, identify recurring issues, and help propose enhancements to improve automated order flow. This position directly supports timely customer service delivery and offers a valuable learning environment for interns interested in operations, business systems, or IT workflows. Exceptional interns may be considered for future opportunities, though full-time employment is not guaranteed.

This role requires you to be conscientious and proactive in resolving issues. You will work with multiple IT teams as well as sales and business support professionals, and will communicate in a variety of styles and contexts. The role requires a customer-oriented mindset and good time management.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, accounting, computer science, quality assurance, or a related field
  • Ability to work a minimum of 25 hours per week Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM CST

Other Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM or similar order-management systems
  • Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Interest in process improvement, operations, or workflow analysis
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities
