Position Overview:
UC San Diego's Temporary Employment Services department is pleased to announce a new opportunity for a Paralegal / Contract Administrator supporting our Health Legal Office. The legal and regulatory environment supporting UC San Diego Health is complex, fast paced, and highly specialized, requiring dedicated legal expertise to support clinical operations, research, risk management, contracting, and compliance. We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to serve as a contract administrator supporting the legal and operational needs of UC San Diego Health. This position plays a critical role in managing the full lifecycle of complex and diverse agreements that support clinical, operational, and administrative functions across the health system. Job Description: The Paralegal is responsible for drafting, issuing, and administering contracts; identifying and engaging potential contractors; negotiating and finalizing contract terms; and monitoring compliance with contractual obligations through completion. The role also includes preparing and submitting documents to relevant University offices, conducting legal and contract-related research, maintaining the integrity of contract databases, and producing ad hoc and routine reports. The Paralegal exercises sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and strategies to achieve effective solutions, collaborates closely with attorneys and internal stakeholders, and ensures alignment with University policies, health system requirements, and applicable legal standards. This role provides specialized legal and contractual support tailored specifically to the operational and regulatory environment of UC San Diego Health. Additional Position Details:
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $79,200 - $143,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $37.93 - $68.68 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
