About the role

Job Title: Laborer

Division: Environmental Division

Department: Portland

Reports To: Project Manager & Foreman

Job Type: Full Time

Summary: Reworld is seeking a self-motivated, hardworking, detail-oriented laborer to assist in the Environmental division. Construction and Environmental is preferred but not necessary. Assist operating field staff, work on a variety of projects including general site work construction, and environmental/remediation projects. Ability to work independently and in a team setting. This position is expected to work eight (8) hours a day Monday through Friday. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, excellent time management, and show professionalism in all work settings.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Provide day to day up-keeping of work areas.

Field site work includes assist operators during excavation, keeping grades for excavations, moving of materials/supplies, traffic control on-site during loading operations, backfilling, compacting, minor landscaping, etc.

Ability to move heavy objects, including lifting up to 75 pounds.

Ability to work in a team setting but also individual setting.

Performs other tasks, as needed, to support daily operations and growth of the company.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to follow direction as provided by supervisor. Good physical condition and endurance. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from foreman and project manager. Ability to problem solve and ask for help as needed.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma; zero to two years related experience and/or training within the construction and/or environmental industry or similar role.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • 40-hour OSHA training*
  • 10-hour OSHA training*

*Not required but preferred
