Job Description

The successful candidate must have experience in civil engineering design on various stormwater/infrastructure projects. Typical projects may include design of grading/drainage, storm culverts, storm sewer systems, detention ponds, minor roadway design, utility infrastructure (sewer and water lines), and erosion control.



  • Under general supervision, applies standard Civil Engineering principles to accomplish tasks. Works within prescribed budgets and schedules.
  • Performs routine, and some non-routine and complicated engineering designs with drawings and calculations in accordance with established standards.
  • Hands-on experience in preparing and coordinating Engineering reports, studies, drawings, calculations, etc. as required.
  • Participates in conferences with client to build understanding of project objectives and resolving design problems.
  • Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Typical site development projects may include site planning, grading & stormwater management, and utilities design.
  • Be involved in construction projects to perform checks of submittals, field changes and update to drawings.


Job Requirements



  • Experience as a civil engineer as demonstrated by 2-4 years of progressive design and developmental projects with facility site design experience.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A Master's Degree in Engineering is plus.
  • EIT is a plus. If candidate has an EIT License please provide State License number on resume or attach a copy of registration.
  • Possess working knowledge of computers and software, such as: MicroStation and/or AutoCAD with Civil 3D or others a plus.
  • Preferred - experience with Storm Drainage Software, such as Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary, HEC-HMS, Hydroflow and Culvertmaster, etc.
  • Business software: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Have good level of verbal and written communication skills.

Federal Government Clearance:

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
