What You'll Do

The Director of Career Services leads all aspects of career development at the Friedman School, ensuring residential and online students are fully prepared and supported in achieving their professional goals. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy that addresses the career needs of all academic programs and degrees.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving Student Engagement: Design and deliver innovative programs, resources, and advising that actively engage students in career planning and job search strategies.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement best practices for career development, employer outreach, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Team Management: Lead, train, and develop a team of career services professionals to provide exceptional student support.
  • Partnership Building: Cultivate relationships with alumni, employers, government agencies, and other organizations to expand internship and employment opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with school leadership, faculty, and counterparts across Tufts and peer institutions to align career services with academic and industry trends.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage budgets, facilities, technology planning, and long-term strategic initiatives in partnership with school leadership.
  • Representation: Serve as the School's ambassador at university-wide and external events to promote career services and student success.

The Director plays a critical role in ensuring every student is engaged, prepared, and connected to meaningful career opportunities.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:

  • Bachelor's Degree in student services or related field of study
  • 7-9 years of directly related professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in student services or related field of study
  • 8-10 years of directly related professional experience

Pay Range

Minimum $96,500.00, Midpoint $120,600.00, Maximum $144,800.00

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
