Responsibilities

This NDT X-Ray Level III (Non-Destructive Testing) will be located in our Plant 10, Whitehall Casting Operation. Key responsibilities for this position will be to execute and document process control checks. Creates, revises, reviews documentation and updates files. Inspects production parts, interacts with level II inspectors regarding production disposition. Audits Level II inspections. Provides input on NDT Technician performance reviews. Communicates with Engineering regarding production problems. Reviews rework and scrap parts. Interacts with customers and engineering personnel to review existing, develop new or improved processes as required. Participates in facility audits (NADCAP, ISO, internal). Maintains qualification of production equipment. Evaluates new technology/materials for production.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Must be qualified or previously qualified as a Level 3 in Film or DR and possess experience to pass Howmet Testing (Level 3 Film and Digital Radiography) within 4 months of hire.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with developing techniques with both film and digital imaging systems
  • Basic understanding of CT with the ability to learn and develop systems
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Experience writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundaments of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
