Stepdown/ICU experience if preferred

Comprehensive Care in a Fully Equipped Community Hospital. Crystal Lake Hospital is a community-focused hospital dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care with advanced emergency, inpatient, and surgical services. Our facility offers a dynamic and supportive environment, combining strong clinical presence with excellent leadership support. We offer:
* 7-Bed Emergency Department (plus a dedicated triage area)
* Awaiting EDAP (Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics) Designation (scheduled for this fall)
* Awaiting ASRH (Acute Stroke Ready Hospital) Designation
* 11 Inpatient Rooms + 2 ICU Rooms
* 4 Operating Rooms (ORs)
* Hospitalists On-Site 24/7 - Continuous inpatient care presence
* Emergency Physicians On-Site 24/7
* Leadership Support: Nurse leaders on-site Monday-Friday during business hours. RN House Coordinators covering nights, weekends, and leadership gaps.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.

  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.

  • Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.

  • Documents according to standards of care.

  • Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and-or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.

  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.

  • Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units and-or departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.

  • Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.

  • Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process.

  • Offers ideas and-or solutions to practice issues.

  • Uses innovative methods and intuitive skills to develop and implement plans of care.

  • Provides innovative ways to educate patient-families

  • Initiates interdisciplinary collaboration to meet the patient/family educational needs.

  • Actively participates in mentoring and precepting new partners to the organization.

  • Positively influences the professional and organizational environments and shared governance.

  • Engages in personal development and supports system-entity opportunities for continuous learning and growth including developing or revising evidence-based practice guidelines.

  • Actively participates in a minimum of 1 departmental or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.

Minimum of 2 years experience required.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE

Licensed as an RN in state of practice

Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days

Other certification(s) per unit requirements. For example: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP
