Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Finance Applications Analyst. This position could be based in any of our U.S. offices and consideration given for 100% remote US locations.


Responsibilities

The Finance Applications Analyst plays an active role in ensuring that the firm's core financial application (Aderant) and other finance-managed applications are supported and perform in accordance with end-user requirements. The role collaborates with Finance team members and application users across the firm to provide support and to resolve issues that arise in the normal course of business. Primary responsibilities include aligning system functionality with workflow requirements and troubleshooting and resolving end-user issues to enable an intuitive and efficient user experience.

  • Record, monitor, and track service requests and incidents using the team's ticketing system, ensuring proper resolution and follow-up.
  • Support and engage Aderant end-users by understanding their day-to-day responsibilities and evaluating their workflows relative to the existing Aderant configuration.
  • Manage the user experience from setup through onboarding and troubleshooting login issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to connectivity and software faults, elevating as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain end-user-facing and internal documentation such as user guides, training material, and knowledge base articles as appropriate.
  • Create solutions for validated business needs within the Aderant Expert modules. This includes building and updating bill formats, customizing smart forms, creating electronic bank file formats, and other applicable solutions.
  • Assist with the documentation and management of scheduled updates for nightly, month-end, year-end and other processing as required.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end financial close as necessary.
  • Maintain a rigorous feedback loop by observing and documenting suboptimal areas in Aderant, including possible solutions and final resolution.
  • Regularly report to management key accomplishments and milestones, roadblocks and risks, resourcing considerations, and goals for the next period.
  • Perform assigned tasks related to Aderant upgrades and the rollout of new Aderant features.
  • As necessary, participate in projects involving the integration of third-party applications with Aderant.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting/Finance, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience relevant experience.
  • Experience in a professional services firm is preferred.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders across the firm, including senior management.
  • Must have the flexibility to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Previous experience with the Aderant Expert Financial Management System and DocuDraft development is preferred. Aderant-specific design and development experience is preferred.
  • Experience in quality assurance testing of financial applications solutions.
  • Ability to work independently on tasks/projects while communicating status updates to manager.
  • Assume a lead role during calls or for projects as required.
  • Strong project management, fact gathering, and prioritization skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position:

  • New York City, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco $86,000 - $120,000
  • Washington DC, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica, Sacramento, Boston, and Seattle $79,000 - $115,000
  • All Other US Locations $64,000 - $100,000

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
