The incumbent is a key member of the management team and plays a key role in the overall quality of the Mercy Health Facilities services with responsibilities for the overall operations of the facility. The incumbent will pull together through planning, problem-solving and joint communications of the departments and services of the facility. The incumbent will coordinate the efforts of the medical staff and institutional staff with the Regional Administrator. The incumbent must possess management expertise and strong human relations skills. Will represent the Regional Administrator and members of the Executive Management staff on various occasions and in various roles. Will be responsible for the overall planning implementation and follow up of management and operational activities of the facility. Assistant Administrator will assist in the marketing, strategic, and development plans under direction of the Regional Administrator. Must make deductive decisions, provide leadership, and ensure department manager's growth. The Assistant Administrator will maintain close communications with the Regional Administrator as directed. Represents the overall philosophy of the institution and sponsoring body. Supervises Facility Department Managers. Coordinates clinical activities so that quality patient care is delivered efficiently, economically and according to established practices. Will delegate duties, activities, and responsibilities to all areas of Nursing Service, Home Health and all other departments as needed. Actively communicates with patients and visitors/guests. Maintains and performs the basic skills as required for job performance. Maintains adequate supplies and equipment for day-to-day operations. Serves as clinical resource to nursing and other departments. Meets required standards with regard to QA monitors. Active in the Infection Control Program for the overall facility. Makes rounds on a daily basis. Takes responsibility in the overall management of the facility in the absence of the Regional Administrator.
Position Details:
Education: Graduate from an approved school or college of nursing. Skills: Ability to be self-motivated and to work with others. Skills in leadership and communication. Must be CPR-certified. Knowledgeable and able to perform duties in all areas of nursing service.
