Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity on State Farm's Digital experience team! We are looking for an energetic, motivated and innovative Mid-Level Software Engineer who enjoys working with people. This is an AWESOME opportunity to join our Auto Reimagined Digital Quote and Purchase API team. We provide our customers (internal Enterprise and external vendors) with easy to consume APIs to support our growth initiatives. This includes multiple experience APIs as well as understanding and acting on digital behaviors. In addition, the product will design an efficient API ecosystem that supports consumability, our growth initiatives, and consistency. Join us in delivering solutions that significantly impact on the experience of our State Farm Customers while gaining valuable experience with AWS technologies.



Qualifications

We Are Seeking Candidates With:

  • Strong Java, spring-boot, spring-framework knowledge/experience
  • API development experience - REST / SOAP - Swagger/OpenAPI
  • Experience with API security including OAuth2 and JSON Web Tokens (JWT)
  • Dependency management: Maven / Gradle - including software composition analysis (SNYK)
  • GitOps and CI/CD Pipelines (GitHub/GitLab)
  • Test Automation (Karate/Cucumber) Framework knowledge/experience
  • RedHat OpenShift Service (ROSA) on AWS; experience desired, but active learning and interest needed
  • Kubernetes, and Docker knowledge/experience
  • Familiarity with a variety of AWS managed services including Secrets Manager and ElastiCache
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Terraform & Scalr
  • Familiarity/experience with Apache Camel and Mapstruct
  • Application Health and Availability Monitoring
  • Distributed tracing abilities using tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace

Additional

  • UI Experience (i.e. Angular) is a plus
  • Graph QL

  • Potential starting salary range: $97,000 - $125,000
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
