The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are seeking a Value Stream Director in our Spokane or Seattle, WA location, with Spokane preferred. Responsible for leading the end-to-end operational and contractual performance of a defined modular products value stream, as primary customer liaison for customer programs in execution. Ensure customer experience and align the right expectation with customer on capacity/delivery schedule/ terms and conditions. Primary focus of this role is account management and overall program execution lead for all products within a value stream.

  • Strategic planning and leadership & Customer Alignment: delivers account-level excellence
    and profitability across multiple products; may lead definition of new KPI's and meets and exceeds
    established KPIs.
  • Operational Governance: Lead operations strategy across multiple value streams/plants; Drive
    long-term alignment with customer strategic goals, full compliance with customer requirements
    & accurate reporting of contract status, risks, and financial performance across value stream;
    work with operations leader to deploy Lean, DfMA, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
  • Talent Development & Executive alignment: Clear communication of account and value stream
    vision and priorities. Develop next-generation leadership talent across manufacturing
  • Continuous improvement leadership: champion lean culture and process standardization

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent jobexperience. Especially job experience in manufacturing environment preferred. Multi-site orenterprise-level management experience preferred.

  • 10-15 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of educationand experience.

  • Ability to lead external client facing meetings, facilitating effective discussions with follow upaction items.

  • Ability to lead the planning and execution of on-site customer experiences, to include Quality Audits, On-Site Tours, Interviews, etc.

  • Expert in Lean, Six Sigma, and executing Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA).

  • 5 years managing a team is required.

  • A strong team player with demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of applicable codes required.

  • Ability to successfully lead a diverse team, as well as organize and manage multiple projectsof varying complexity.

  • Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.

  • Ability to utilize available resources effectively to solve problems as they occur.

  • Advanced in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio and Salesforce CRM Required.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing financial programs and software required.

  • Advanced estimating skills Required. Supports estimate development for new products andcustomer

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to work with and manage outside vendor

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 40%.

  • Physical ability to navigate production facilities, or jobsites in uneven terrain.

The pay range for this position is $134,730 - $215,550 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
