Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Manager for the department of Surgery at the New Jersey Medical School.

The primary purpose of the Program Manager position is to manage all aspects of the Department of Surgery's faculty affairs including the faculty appointments, credentialing and recruitment process. Monitor the departmental research budget. Assist in monitoring the department financial functions. Take the lead in various short and long term projects as needed.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Manage assigned Department of Surgery secretarial staff.
  • Maintain and manage the faculty mentoring program for the Department of Surgery.
  • Manage all Surgery Staff credentialing for new faculty (full time, part time, per diem) and volunteers.
  • Act as the liaison between the Department of Surgery and the Faculty Affairs for recruiting, retention, on-boarding and promotion.
  • Oversees the Ballots and Annual promotions.
  • Manages the faculty reappointment letters for paid and volunteer.
  • Coordinate and attend the monthly faculty meeting.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field plus three (3) year experience involving the review, analysis and evaluation of financial, organizational, and/or administrative practices in a business or government agency required.
  • Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be proficient in computer applications Banner and E-print, and web based programs, such as MS Office products, MS Outlook Controller Report Library. Must be detail oriented, have excellent organization, hold self accountable to high standards of professional excellence, and be able to maximize resources on a continued basis.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal/human relations skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to maintain records and files.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree preferred.
