Genesis10 is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer with our banking company client in their Charlotte, NC or Phoenix, AZ locations. This is a 12 month + contract and hybrid remote position.

Summary:

We are looking for a candidate with a proven background defining cloud architecture and implementing cloud engineering solutions. As the Staff Cloud Engineer, you will provide expert advice and lead the design and implementation of the cloud components in hybrid cloud environment including Azure. In this role, you will lead implementing solutions with a process-driven view, as well as scheduled maintenance and/or updates to existing structures.

Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Architect/ Engineer role will deliver on the following responsibilities:
  • Lead design, implementation, and administration of cloud-based infrastructure with automation and security first approach.
  • Build life cycle automation for various public cloud services using Terraform and other Infrastructure as code tools - Ansible etc.
  • Lead collaboration with Development team to make sure business focus applications are delivered on-time with specific Infrastructure needs/architecture.
  • Optimizes cloud environments for performance, scalability, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build security as a first-class citizen in everything we do from Cloud Infrastructure, OS, VM, Containers, Kubernetes, APIs etc.
  • Vulnerability management with strict SLA is a massive focus here at the bank, establish. vulnerability management process, scalable automation to constantly keep prod and non-prod environments safe/secured.
  • Partner with InfoSec team to effectively communicate, educate, bring requirements to execution and deliver.
  • Build the DevOps and DevSecOps program vision and strategy covering all aspects from architecture, design, development, and deployment - CICD and Secure CICD.
  • Produce excellent documentation, deployment diagrams/architecture etc.
  • Build various KPI for cloud Infrastructure and effectively communicate to leadership team.
  • Train junior engineers in the team and mentor them.
  • OnDemand Production support - rotation basis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Masters preferred in Computer Science.
  • Cloud Engineering/ Architecture: 5 years.
  • 10 Plus years of Enterprise Information Technology.
  • Experience designing, building, and implementing distributed cloud architecture within Azure cloud environments - Azure Front Door, Azure Firewall, AKS, APIM, CosmosDB, ACR, VM, VMSS, Storage Account, Key Vaults etc., is much desired.
  • Terraform experience building complex cloud Infrastructure, ability to write modules, best practice, state files management etc. is MUST.
  • Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals.
  • Infrastructure security scan tools understanding (e.g. Azure Defender, Container Scan, API security, Perimeter scan etc.) is much desired.
  • Experience with full DevOps cycle spanning across - Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Security, Observability, CICD, Secure CICD, ProdOps etc.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing large scale platforms with high resiliency, availability, and reliability using public cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in implementing security architecture and best practices in cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Team player, ability to work within team and also be independent.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to clearly communicate.
  • Innovator and one who keeps tabs on various industry trends, cloud native advances and bring to team(s) attention for POC, Implementation.
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
Desired:
  • Advanced Azure/ certifications.
Pay rate range: $65.00 - $70.00 hourly.
