Patient Account Representative Location: Must reside in CST Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST Overview The Patient Account Representative is responsible for managing patient accounts and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances. This role requires strong knowledge of the revenue cycle and experience in insurance collections. Key Responsibilities * Research and resolve patient accounts using hospital systems and online resources. * Follow up on unpaid claims with insurance companies and patients via phone, email, or online. * Review remittances and pursue disputed balances from government and commercial payors. * Document all actions and claim statuses clearly in the patient accounting system. * Access payor websites to gather information and resolve issues. * Identify and report payor trends, delays, and workflow issues. * Update insurance and demographic information as needed. * Attend meetings and respond promptly to emails and calls. * Perform other duties as assigned. Must-Have Skills * Outbound collections experience with third-party payors in a medical setting. * Ability to read EOBs and navigate payor websites. * Knowledge of commercial, managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid insurance. * Understanding of the full revenue cycle process (authorization, billing, appeals, collections). * Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel). * Ability to quickly learn hospital systems * Clear and professional communication skills. Education & Experience * High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in business or accounting preferred). * 1-4 years of experience in medical claims or hospital collections. * Typing speed of at least 45 WPM. Nice-to-Have Skills * Familiarity with additional patient accounting processes and tools. * Ability to recognize and resolve payor delays and trends. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
