Job Objective:

As the Fine Arts Lead, you will be responsible for the coordination of program development, implementation, and ongoing operations related to the Fine Arts programming of the Kroc Center. This position is designed to create a vibrant variety of music/drama and/or art instruction leading to practical performances. They are expected to maintain a friendly and positive attitude while effectively communicating with parents and students to establish a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with The Salvation Army's mission. Proficient in responsive fine arts instruction techniques, the Fine Arts Lead fosters a culture of positivity and warmth within the program. This role requires the ability to multitask, work independently, lead a group, and collaborate effectively as a team player ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

Starting pay: $15.00

What You Will Do:



  • Schedule instructors and students for lessons, classes, and events, ensuring adequate coverage and effective coordination of responsibilities while respecting their 19-hr. limit. Schedule should be completed at least two weeks out to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Establish and maintain performance ensembles, including but not limited to Dance, Visual Arts, Choral, etc.
  • Fill in for Fine Arts Instructors and counselors when there is a shortage of staff, ensuring the smooth operation of program activities and safe-from-harm ratios.
  • Assist in training and guiding instructors on their roles and responsibilities to ensure a successful experience for all participants. Provide counselors with necessary resources and support.
  • Tidy and organize areas used daily by students and staff to maintain a clean and safe environment. Areas include Digital Arts Room, Art Room, Arts & Education Closet, Music Rehearsal Room and main Music Room.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating with parents about any concerns, cancellations, and ensuring that accounts remain current.
  • Track student attendance in all Fine Arts program classes daily or by the end of Friday for accurate records. You will also monitor behavior policy contracts signed by parents and students to uphold Kroc standards and expectations.
  • Other tasks as assigned by leadership


Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience: Two years of related educational, ministry and/or organizational experience, supervision. Equivalent combinations of education and experience which, in the sole determination of The Salvation Army, provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform this role, will be considered.

Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm and CPR training within the first 30 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:



  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to relate positively and energetically to staff, members, and community organizations.


  • Have the ability to work with people of all ages in a capacity for leadership, counseling, and education.


  • Must have the ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude in working with customers, clients, members, and staff.


  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
