The Process Manager, Design Engineering is responsible for managing contract and purchase order reviews, leading pre- and post-production meetings, and coordinating Design Engineering activities. The role ensures accurate cost estimating for new parts, manages design changes, guides method and tooling development, leads problem-solving efforts, and drives cost reduction and quality improvements across products and processes.



  • Prioritize and direct Design Engineering staff to support Engineering and ATI Forged Products objectives.
  • Monitor performance metrics and drive improvements supporting business goals.
  • Select, train, evaluate, and motivate Design Engineering personnel to develop organizational capability.
  • Ensure contract and customer order reviews are completed accurately and timely; ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize and track progress of estimating projects, new part development, customer orders, and backlog resolution.
  • Apply extensive manufacturing expertise to guide cost development, process planning, and technical decisionmaking.
  • Strengthen organizational understanding of routing, estimating, tooling, and PT cost drivers.
  • Maintain and ensure integrity of ERP data entry and process changes.
  • Lead and document HPI, pre-production, and other cross-functional meetings to identify and drive actions.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and customers to promote trust, transparency, and high ethical standards.


Basic Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, or related preferred).
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in heavy manufacturing or aerospace industries.


Preferred



  • Strong understanding of forging, heat treating, machining, and NDT processes.
  • Experience managing contract/order reviews and interpreting customer technical requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering, technical staff, or crossfunctional project teams.
  • Proven ability to develop or improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and routings.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and managing accurate process data.
