The Supply and Demand Planner is responsible for managing topics within their assigned product line and focusing on continuous improvement. It will focus on driving cost and service optimization within the product line. The role involves implementing Strategic Supply Chain Management and lean principles to support Hilti's goals for sustainable and profitable growth.
What You'll do
- Oversee high-volume inventory management via effective planning, purchasing, and distribution of SKUs
- Act as primary contact for internal customers, supporting sales strategies and executing stocking plans for new product launches across all locations
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Global Supply Chain, Global Business Units (BU), and Finance to achieve sales targets and drive sustainable, profitable growth
- Engage in lean methodologies to develop, test, and implement new supply chain and materials management procedures, focusing on reducing resource expenditure in procurement and distribution
- Maintain and provide transparency on reports, including Product Availability Report, to Sales and Marketing on short supply of critical items
- Manage the product lifecycle, including item creation, master data maintenance, sales forecasts, promotion planning, and phase-out processes
- Develop accurate sales forecasts, aligning BU forecasts with the Annual Sales Plan, and manage historical data within demand planning systems to identify and correct anomalies
- Ensure procurement and align Material Requirements Plan (MRP) planned releases with financial goals
- Establish and maintain Distribution Center (DC) stocking strategy, including phase in/phase out materials
- Utilize established reporting to review data exceptions, ensure execution of monthly reviews and maintenance of MRP system
- Operate within inventory budget by implementing inventory control practices such as monthly reviews of DC safety stock levels, rebalancing overstocked locations, and leading discussions with HNA Marketing to identify and address high-value overstocks through sales initiatives
- Execute purchasing and distribution plans for New Product Introductions (INPs), monitor and adjust based on actual sales rates
- Manage product phase-outs in coordination with INPs and product pruning initiatives
- Identify and process goods for supplier returns or scrap obsolete products; drive efforts to reduce
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree, required; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu
- Two (2) years' experience in a supply chain environment, required
- Professional logistics certifications highly preferred, including: Six Sigma Green Belt or higher, APICS, Institute for Supply Chain Management, ASQ, Gemba Academy
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence business decisions with strong Entrepreneurial Business Partner (EBP) behaviours
- Strong ability to lead and drive change via influence without direct control
- Proven knowledge of SAP Inventory and ERP modules
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Hilti products
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing data and making recommendations
- Proven ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office Suites
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation), including the ability to communicate throughout multiple levels of the organization
- Detail oriented, excellent follow-up and organizational skills, required
- Demonstrated ability to work with ERP systems including DRP/MRP and Inventory modules
