Job Description




As a Security Officer - Education Campus Foot Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for all. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and support a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or potential hazards in and around the premises.
  • Support access control procedures by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and assisting with visitor management.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities.
  • Communicate promptly and clearly with Allied Universal management, site personnel, and emergency responders as required.
  • Assist with crowd management during events or busy periods on the premises.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment and follow all post orders and instructions provided by Allied Universal and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
