About the Job

Title: Undergrad Research Assistant
Expected Number of hours per week: 5-7
Work Location: Hybrid (Remote and on-site at MIDB located off the main Twin Cities campus)

Job Overview
Research assistants are needed to help with completing coding of video measures collected as a part of intervention trials, and tracking the development and progress in intervention of young children with autism spectrum disorder. The research assistants would learn about the administration and scoring of cutting-edge social-communication measures for young children and be directly supervised by a licensed clinical psychologist in the Autism and Neurodevelopment Clinic at the University of Minnesota housed within the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB).

Job Responsibilities

Coding (80%)

  • Watch and rate parent-child play interactions for behaviors related to autism spectrum disorder using an established rating scheme.

Administrative (20%)

  • Maintaining proper handling of parent/child recordings.
  • Entering coded data to database.
  • Saving and securing data as needed.
Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree or have a background (through coursework or direct experience) in psychology or related fields.
  • Availability to be on-site at MIDB.
  • Attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and/or individuals with disabilities.

The MIDB's mission of basic and clinical research in the field of neurobehavioral development is supported by its Neuroimaging core, which fosters collaborations within departments at the University of Minnesota and across institutions to build teams with the highest possible degree of expertise.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
