Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a per diem Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Advanced Biotechnology & Medicine (
CABM) within the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (
RBHS).
The primary purpose of the per diem Temporary Research Assistant is to work virtually and over the phone with study participants for a group of related studies. The Temporary Research Assistant will perform tasks related to participant recruitment, consent, follow-up and retention throughout the study. These tasks will be performed in a virtual environment with extensive use of online data management and tracking systems. Work will be performed onsite at Rutgers
CABM.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Accurately documents all contact with participants.
- Tracks participant progress in completing study activities and provides follow-up as needed.
- Coordinates the mailing and delivery of biosample kits to participants according to requested dates and times.
- Schedules and conducts virtual meetings with participants related to study consent and questions about the study.
- Assists with data collection and database management.
- Attends weekly meetings with the research team as well as project-specific trainings.
- Provides ongoing project support by taking meeting minutes, scheduling follow-up meetings and general administrative duties.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Undergraduate / graduate student OR recent graduate in a relevant field.
- Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.

- Must have CITI certification in human subjects research.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Ability to record and maintain study data in a computerized format.
- Must be detail-oriented and have excellent writing and editing skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a team environment.

- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Previous experience with online study data management systems.
- Previous experience with electronic medical records systems.
- Student enrolled in the Rutgers Master of Public Health program or Rutgers BS/MPH Combined Program.
