Overview

The Regional Parts Transfer Driver will be responsible for loading and securing parts on a truck, transporting them from one TEC Equipment branch to another, then safely unloading the parts upon arrival. This position will be expected to drive between different branches within a region which could include multiple states. On non-driving days responsibilities include warehouse work and local customer deliveries.



Responsibilities

    Load boxed and palleted truck parts into a delivery vehicle and secure them safely to avoid damage.
  • Drive loads to TEC Equipment locations, unload cargo, and reload for return trip.
  • Abide by all highway safety rules, scale requirements, and hazmat rules. Perform system pre-trip checks before driving and observe/comply with all safety rules listed in our vehicle usage policy.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisor, parts counter, Inventory Control Supervisor, Parts Clerk, and/or shipping & receiving clerks. Provide customer information to counter personnel and supervisor. Adequately escalate any delays in deliveries to ensure customer is aware of the estimated arrival time.
  • Help the parts team become the premier parts department in the community through timely, accurate, safe, and friendly deliveries and pickups to and from customer locations as well as satellite stores and vendors.
  • Always ensure that parts being delivered match the customer's invoices and transfer requests.
  • Check-in with supervisor or designated team members before leaving on parts runs to discuss schedules and stops.
  • Use delivery vehicle(s) to deliver parts to customers.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and ensure delivery vehicle is clean and well-maintained; report needed vehicle repairs to the supervisor or designated Parts department team-member.
  • Unload vehicle at the end of each shift, turn in all necessary paperwork, and undelivered parts.
  • Wash the delivery vehicle on a regular basis and ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, presentable at all times. Complete vehicle safety checks before operating a vehicle.
  • Assist warehouse team with incoming and outgoing shipments. Operate forklift and/or complete other supporting tasks for parts department as directed by leadership.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, as required and follow all general safety rules listed in the WHS policy.


Qualifications

  • Prior customer service experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to navigate metro area using both electronic and paper maps
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with customers and co-workers
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and manage time
  • Valid Class A or B driver's license with good driver record preferred
  • Prior forklift experience preferred


Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $24.00 to $31.00.
