The School of Public Health division of Epidemiology and Community Health is seeking applications for a full-time Temporary (through September 2026) Community Education Sepecialist (8312CB Ed Pro 2 - Community Based Ed and outreach) for the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC), Minnesota and Iowa site. Starting Salary is dependent upon the selected candidate's relevant qualifications, experience, and internal equity: $26.93-$31.25 or $56,000-$65,000 annually (full-time). Work Arrangements: The University of Minnesota endorses "Work. With Flexibility." and we offer a flexible work environment that meets the needs of our students, faculty, staff, and partners we serve. This position is hybrid and approximately 70% remote, sometimes traveling to Iowa and outside of the Twin Cities, 30% in-person (varies). The successful candidate will be provided University-configured equipment and supportive technology tools, however, they are expected to have access to a reliable internet connection for duties undertaken remotely. Work arrangements will be discussed during the interview. Onsite Location: West Bank Office Building (WBOB) 1300 S 2nd St, Minneapolis Duration: This position is through September 2026. It may be extended depending upon funding and performance. Schedule: Ability to maintain a somewhat flexible work schedule, including occasional evening and weekend hours to meet the program participant needs and availability This position also requires candidates to have a cell phone that can be used as needed for work purposes. As well as a valid driver's license. Center Description: The Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center is a federal and state funded training center, providing AIDS and HIV clinical education, skills building, and professional development support to health care professionals, social service providers, and anyone strategically placed to influence the HIV epidemic. MATEC has built connections with the top HIV clinicians and researchers in our region to offer health care professionals targeted training and direct access to expert information. We seek to improve workforce capacity for the HIV healthcare professionals in Minnesota and Iowa, and by doing so, improve care for people living with HIV. We are part of a national network of AIDS Education and Training Centers, serving all states and territories and including four supporting national centers. Responsibilities: Project Management 40%
