Summary The Retail Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and training of retail staff, and acts as liaison between front line staff and management regarding issues directly affecting day-to-day operations. We kindly ask that all applicants either live in Juneau or be open to relocating at their own expense. Pay and Benefits: Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. The plan is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However, Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, in the sole discretion of the Company. Goldbelt, Inc. hopes that by providing short-term incentive compensation, this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.'s long-term value. Responsibilities
Job Duties
- Warmly welcome and engage customers as they enter the store.
- Always maintains a friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous demeanor.
- Ensures daily that the retail shop is clean, fully stocked and neat in appearance.
- Operates, supervises, and coordinates all duties and activities of a retail shop and staff.
- Responsible for opening and/or closing the shop, recording, reconciling, and reporting daily cash receipts.
- Oversees completion of inventory process including receiving and committing into software, pricing, and ensuring that products are properly and neatly displayed
- Responsible for supervising, training, and scheduling retail clerks.
- Coordinates and participates in staff orientation and customer service training.
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of gifts and artists, to pass on to customers and retail staff.
- Staying knowledgeable about our range of products and actively promotes merchandise to increase customers' options and enrich the shopping experience
- Responsible for a safe and efficient retail space area.
- Ensures that sales products are properly and neatly displayed and stocked, and supplies are available for staff use.
- Performs limited inventory management.
- Responsible for upholding and assuring staff compliance with Goldbelt's Family of Alaska-based Subsidiary Companies' policies and procedures.
- Acts as liaison between front line staff and management regarding issues directly affecting day-to-day operations.
- On behalf of the Tramway retail operations, performs customer purchasing transactions for retail items, gifts or pieces of art in a shop setting; explains characteristics and origin of items to customers
- Assures that all staff is following all rules & Regulations stated in Goldbelt Tram's Employee Handbook and that all guidelines of the Retail Manager are always followed.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as assigned.

- Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance daily with tact and courtesy.

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills)
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Six (6) months of cash handling experience.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Preferrred Qualifications (education, experience, skills)
- One (1) year of lead retail clerk experience, which included all retail shop activities.
- One (1) year of cash handling experience.
- Prior Tram Retail experience.
- Two (2) years retail supervisor experience or Managerial Experience.
- Four (4) years customer service experience.
- One (1) year administrative or clerical background.
- Two (2) years on any POS system, RMS preferred.
- Two (2) years high volume cash handling experience.
