Job Overview

The Internal Audit Auditor I - IT performs audits and advisory reviews to assess risk, review policies and procedures, and test controls related to Information Technology Operations, Security, and Compliance functions. The role includes performing other related duties to support audit needs.

What You Will Do



  • Contribute to audit planning by providing insights on methodology and approach, leveraging prior year audit workpapers, flowcharts, industry control frameworks, and audit reports.
  • Conduct interviews with process and business owners to gather information, identify key risks, and assess the expected internal controls, executing predesigned audit tests independently.
  • Analyze business processes, policies, and controls to identify risks, gaps, or opportunities, and collaborate with business partners to develop and assess corrective actions.
  • Perform thorough analysis of gathered information with professional skepticism, ensuring appropriate follow-up and clarity.
  • Document assessments and test results by deadlines, adhering to internal audit standards, and prepare accurate audit findings with recommended corrective actions.
  • Present and confirm audit findings and corrective actions with process and business owners at various organizational levels.
  • Complete departmental tasks to ensure compliance with professional audit standards, including work self-review, file close-out, and responding to supervisor feedback.
  • Conduct independent research and participate in industry-related training to expand technical knowledge and stay informed about IT and security trends.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.


Skills You Will Need

Analytical and Problem-Solving: Ability to evaluate business processes, identify risks and gaps, and develop corrective actions

Technical Expertise: Knowledge of IT operations, security practices, compliance frameworks, and industry standards

Audit Execution: Skill in planning audits, conducting interviews, and performing and documenting audit tests independently

Professional Judgment: Demonstrates professional skepticism, sound judgment, and a strong learning aptitude

Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills to present findings clearly and collaborate with stakeholders

Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adjust to evolving audit priorities

Continuous Learning: Commitment to independent research and staying updated on IT and security trends

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.

    • CISA or CISSP certification is preferred, but not required
    • Up to 2 years of relevant work experience preferred.

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel.
  • Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms.
  • Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
  • Able to travel 10%-20%.
