Job Summary

Serve as a direct supervisor to manufacturing staff on the third shift, overseeing daily operations to meet and exceed company production goals. This role encompasses leadership, coordination, and employee development within a dynamic production environment.


Shift - Sunday - Thursday 10pm - 6:30am

Primary Duties

  • Lead and develop a production team performing shearing, punching, forging, tempering, assembling, and painting of automotive leaf springs while ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Plan and adjust shift schedules to meet production targets and maximize workforce efficiency.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate employees on safe equipment operation, quality procedures, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Monitor production output and inspect work to maintain quality and resolve process issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records for attendance, performance, and employee documentation.
  • Provide hands-on support for routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate in departmental meetings to drive process improvement, safety initiatives, and team alignment.
  • Analyze schedules and resources, recommending adjustments to optimize productivity and meet deadlines.
  • Enforce company policies and OSHA safety regulations to uphold a safe, compliant workplace.
  • Investigate and report incidents, supporting corrective action and prevention efforts.
  • Address operational challenges and personnel issues through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Support HR-related decisions such as promotions, transfers, and performance reviews.
  • Complete administrative tasks including scheduling, documentation, and performance tracking with accuracy.
  • Maintain plant organization, cleanliness, and safety through consistent housekeeping and shift inspections.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules, operational manuals, and maintenance instructions to ensure effective workflow and safety compliance.
  • Skilled in preparing routine reports and formal correspondence to communicate effectively with management and team members.
  • Strong verbal communication skills suitable for engaging with diverse groups of employees and stakeholders, facilitating clear understanding and collaboration.
  • Competent in essential mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measure, including fractions and decimals, relevant to production and scheduling tasks.
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphical data to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address practical challenges and manage diverse variables within a semi-structured production environment.
  • Adept at interpreting complex instructions delivered in written, verbal, diagrammatic, or scheduling formats to guide operational processes efficiently.

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate is required.
  • One to three months of directly related manufacturing or supervisory experience, or a combination of equivalent education and hands-on experience, showcasing the ability to lead and manage production teams effectively.
  • Starts at $75k per year with 10% bonus

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $62,600.00 to $89,800.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
