Position Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is seeking an academic Nephropathologist for a tenure-track/tenured, fixed-term, or variable-track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We are seeking a new pathologist to join our current nephropathologists to support our Nephropathology program, which includes an established outreach kidney biopsy service.

UNC Nephropathology has a distinguished laboratory within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, providing technical services for all medical renal cases at UNC Medical Center, other UNC Health entities, and beyond. UNC School of Medicine has many outstanding opportunities for research and scholarship in medical renal disease, including dynamic Nephrology and Kidney Transplant programs and The UNC Kidney Center that coordinates a wide spectrum of kidney disease research including multiple ongoing NIH funded research consortia. Opportunities are available for teaching in the School of Medicine and the Graduate School.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
The applicant must have an MD or comparable degree, be board-certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, have fellowship training and/or service experience in nephropathology, and be eligible to obtain a medical license in North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Applicants interested in minor clinical service work in one of our other surgical pathology sub-specialties will also be considered.
