About the Role:

The Quality Assurance Specialist ensures the company's quality systems, policies, and practices comply with regulatory and customer standards across food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Total Quality, this role supports corporate QA activities by developing and maintaining documentation, overseeing internal audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires strong analytical thinking, technical writing, and problem-solving skills to maintain compliance with programs such as SQF, HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards. Acting as a key quality resource and backup to the Senior Manager, the Quality Assurance Specialist also serves as the SQF Practitioner and HACCP Coordinator to safeguard product quality and safety.

Role Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Manage the document control program, ensuring timely review, accuracy, and version control of all QA and EHS documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits for ISO, HACCP, SQF, and related quality programs.
  • Lead or assist in investigations, corrective actions, and reporting for non-conformances and customer complaints.
  • Support HACCP and food safety programs by coordinating meetings, reviewing Management of Change documents, and maintaining HACCP records.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify quality improvements, enhance processes, and support compliance initiatives.

Role Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in GMP or ISO 9001 environments.
  • Internal Auditor qualification with hands-on auditing experience.
  • PCQI certification required.
  • Experience with regulatory programs such as RSPO, BRC or SQF Food Safety, cGMP, and NSF/IPEC/ANSI 363.
  • Strong technical writing skills for authoring procedures, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with customer and regulatory audit processes and CAPA management.
  • Excellent organization, process mapping, and problem-solving abilities.
