Summary:

The Nursing Director plays a key leadership role, partnering with the Acute Care Manager to ensure excellence in quality, patient experience, and engagement. This position serves as the vital link between MaineHealth's mission and vision and the delivery of safe, patient- and family-centered care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the planning and implementation of systems that uphold high standards of patient care
  • Supporting and developing a skilled, effective nursing team
  • Promoting cost-effective practices
  • Maintaining a 24/7 nursing care model that meets patient and family needs
  • Demonstrating exceptional communication and leadership skills

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing desired. Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  2. Licesnse/Certifications: Current license as a Registered Nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing required.
  3. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience in nursing, with at last three (3) years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  4. Ability to work and communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians and other staff members.
