This category is for the engineer that has acquired extensive knowledge of concepts, principles and practices, and works independently with only general direction. This senior reactor engineer provides technical direction to engineers and completes assignments that require integration with other departments and are of broad scope and complexity. Besides core monitoring and typical reactor engineering duties, this engineer performs tasks required for the reload core design and review process, including review of core design products and deliverables produced by the fuel vendor. May be required to fill a rotation in the DCPP Emergency Response Organization (ERO) as necessary. Will be required to support refueling outages, including 12 hour shifts and rotation to night shift, when needed. To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.Although we estimatethesuccessful candidate hiredinto this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill bemade on a case-by-casebasis related to these factors.
