Minimum Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6 months administrative or customer service experience
  • Experience managing schedules
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • 1 year administrative or customer service experience

  • Administrative Experience: Scheduling experience, close attention to detail, experience handling confidential or secure information.

  • Customer Service Experience: Professional communication skills and ability to troubleshoot/problem solve.

Duties and Responsibilities
Position Summary: The Academic Testing Assistant will manage the active 38-seat DS Test Center-a component of the Office of Disability Services at UNC Charlotte that administers accommodations for students with disabilities. The Testing Assistant will have sole responsibilities for overseeing and coordinating evening testing operations. This comprehensive role involves necessary administrative tasks, dedicated test proctoring for examinees with disabilities, and regular professional interaction with students, faculty, and staff. The successful candidate will be trained in the specific test scheduling software utilized by Disability Services staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check students in and out for their test reservations.
  • Maintain a clean and quiet atmosphere for testing.
  • Oversee the distribution, preparation, administration, and return of test materials, including printing and scanning, in an organized and secure manner.
  • Actively proctor exams and monitor video surveillance software to help ensure test security.

    • Proctoring can include scribing for a student.



  • Monitor and respond to incoming Disability Services' Test Center emails from students and faculty.
  • Answer calls related to testing and/or contact faculty or departments regarding testing issues.
  • Assist students in need of accessible materials (large print/Braille/etc.), technology, or software.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of testing materials.
  • Communicate any issues to the Academic Testing Coordinator and/or Director.
  • Other duties and special projects deemed reasonable and necessary by the DS Team.

Other Work/Responsibilities
Enter time on time sheet with accuracy and submit time sheets by due date.
