Shift: Days, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM three times per week, Rotating every other weekend

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital's 4 East Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in geriatric care as well as some stroke cases of all ages. Our nurses have a typical patient ratio of 5:1, and the support of Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Interns and Patient Care Technicians on a daily basis. We operate with a team mentality, and enjoy building relationships with our patients throughout their stay (typically a minimum of 3 days). • Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
