The Banker Foundation Trainee program is approximately 18 months where new Simmons associates rotate throughout various businesses to grow a strong foundation of the banking industry. They learn the strategy, the purpose behind the work, business processes, and most importantly how we serve and support our internal and external customers. Through this process they build connections and begin to identify points of contact that will serve them well throughout their career Simmons. These associates are highly sought after by internal teams, once their program is complete, because of the exposure and broad understanding of the bank they gain through the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learns from assigned sponsor the rules/regulations that apply to the specific job.
  • Works with other associates within each department to become knowledgeable of the procedures and processes handled by the department, including performing the job duties for a period of time.
  • Participates in programs recommended by leader and sponsor to enhance the knowledge and required activities of the position.
  • Participates in community involvement and volunteer activities, if part of the department.
  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial report and/or legal documents.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence, routine reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients and other employees in the organization

Education and/or Experience

  • BS/BA Degree

Computer Skills

  • MS Office programs
