Symetra has an exciting new opportunity to join us as aSenior Digital Product Manager!

About the role

As a Senior Digital Product Manager, you will define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for your products with full ownership and independence. You will use your deep business and technical expertise to guide case development, set technical direction, and manage products throughout their lifecycle. You will clearly articulate each product's value proposition to partners and make informed recommendations when a product should evolve, be replaced, or be retired.

You will typically manage multiple products or a highly complex product, building alignment across business, technical, and cross-functional partners. By using strong product management frameworks and a variety of research techniques, you will ensure your products deliver meaningful business outcomes and long-term value.

What you will do



  • Develop and communicate product strategy aligned to enterprise goals, collaborating with customers, business partners, and technology teams while securing resources to maintain a healthy product lifecycle.
  • Apply Agile practices to deliver high-quality solutions, partner with the product owner to maintain a clear and measurable backlog, support delivery teams on protocols manage risks and dependencies, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary expert for your product domain, tailoring communication across audiences and formats, clearly conveying product vision and strategy, and acting as the main contact for vendors.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to measure impact, inform product decisions, assess opportunities, and conduct analyses such as return on investment, cost-benefit, and root-cause evaluations.
  • Mentor other product managers, champion user-centered product development, inspire cross-functional teams, stay current on industry trends, and model strong leadership behaviors.
  • Engage in ongoing learning, stay up to date with product management guidelines and participate in communities of practice.

Compensation

Salary Range: $125,000 - $208,400 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Who You Are:



  • You have a high school diploma (required) and a bachelor's degree (or equivalent industry experience), along with 10-15 years of relevant work and at least 3 years in a highly regulated industry or specialized domain.
  • You bring advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, able to turn abstract or ambiguous information into clear insights.
  • You are an experienced leader who provides strategic direction and the proven ability to mentors others
  • You excel at influencing and educating partners at all levels, including senior leaders, and are skilled in negotiation, consensus-building, and facilitation across large, cross-functional groups.
  • You foster collaboration, build trust easily, and thrive in complex environments requiring expert judgment and high-impact decision making.
  • You have experience with work management tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jira, and are familiar with Agile practices; certifications like Scrum Product Owner or Scrum Master are a plus.
  • You have expertise with enterprise communication systems, including email platforms (Amazon SES, Twilio, SendGrid) and SMS capabilities.
  • You are experienced with digital and paper document management systems, including SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite, with OpenText Exstream considered a strong plus.
