Student Teaching Supervisor

Position Purpose

The Department of Teaching and Learning within the College of Education at the University of Iowa is seeking a supervisor for secondary school math student teaching for the spring semester of 2026.

Job Responsibilities

The supervisor will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Assisting with placement of students in secondary schools.
• Participate in Math Student Teaching Seminar class for facilitating students' reflection on student teaching experience once a month.
• Communicate over email with students and cooperating teachers weekly.
• Manage the online course system (ICON) for the course.
• Preplan and do 5 observations for each student.
• Provide feedback for videotaping analysis.
• Complete student evaluation sheets for final evaluation.

Education Requirement

Master's Degree in an education-related field.

Qualifications

Supervisor must have a teaching license in the United States.

Required Experience

Supervisor must have successfully completed a minimum of three years of teaching at the Middle School, Junior High School, or High School level in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Post-secondary teaching experience.
