Security Officer - Education Patrol

As a Security Officer - Education Patrol in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming atmosphere at an educational location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, staying visible throughout the assigned area, and providing outstanding customer service and communication to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors on location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Respond calmly and with problem-solving skills to incidents and critical situations that may arise on location.
• Conduct both regular and random patrols throughout the premises and its perimeter, maintaining an active presence to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
• Assist with access control, visitor management, and monitoring of entrances and exits to help to deter unauthorized entry.
• Collaborate with campus staff and local authorities as needed in response to incidents or emergencies.
• Remain alert and observant while on duty, adapting to varying environments and conditions specific to educational locations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
