THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Pine Grove is seeking a motivated and dependable Corrections Stock Clerk. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will oversee inmate workers in our warehouse and commissary. You will instruct inmates in the standard principles and practices of storeroom operations including receiving and maintaining inventory, inspecting materials and matching packing slips with purchase orders, and ensuring products are safely unloaded and distributed. You will also submit requisitions for inventory replenishment, prepare routine reports, and monitor completion of work assignments. This role requires the ability to operate motor vehicles, fork lifts, or hand trucks to move oversized or heavy items, remove scrap materials, and make deliveries. In addition, you will ensure compliance with facility regulations and provide input for inmate performance reviews.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
