OverviewThe Production Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (AI) team, part of the Linux Platform Group in Microsoft's Azure Core organization, plays a critical role in powering Azure Cloud. This team ensures that Azure operates with the latest versions of Linux software, delivering the highest quality and performance while serving as the gatekeeper for production software. The team achieves this at Azure scale through advanced automation and by leveraging artificial intelligence to reduce manual effort. Joining the Production Engineering and AI team offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth of Microsoft's Azure Cloud infrastructure.As a Software Engineer II on this team, you will design, develop, and maintain software and automation that ensure the continued performance of Linux operating systems and related software on Azure Cloud systems. You will collaborate with multiple teams and partners to deliver solutions that enhance reliability and efficiency. ResponsibilitiesWorks with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.Create, debug and maintain clean, efficient, easy-to-maintain and well-documented code to ensure that any Linux based software that gets deployed onto Azure Cloud meets our high-quality standards and provides a seamless experience to our partner teams and end users, reusing code as applicable.Leverage AI and automation to drive efficiency in our processes and reduce human toil.Be an Open Source enthusiast and contribute to our projects in the open source community via enhancements, code reviews and setting up of CI/CD pipelines.Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. | |
