Senior Director, AI Platform and Products

The AI Engineering and Enablement organization defines and advances OpenText's AI vision, strategy, and foundational platform architecture. It serves as the central force aligning product, engineering, and research teams around a common AI foundation that ensures scalable, secure, and consistent GenAI capabilities across the enterprise.

Focused on innovation and enablement, the organization delivers shared AI platforms, orchestration frameworks, and foundational services that form the strategic and technical backbone powering GenAI adoption across all products and business units.

Your Impact:

As Senior Director of AI Platform and Products, you will serve as a senior technical and strategic leader reporting to the VP of AI Engineering and Enablement. You will shape the long-term vision, architecture, and execution strategy for OpenText's AI Foundations and Platform ecosystem and translate that vision into actionable product and engineering goals.

This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, AI incubation, and enterprise enablement. You will lead the evolution of OpenText's shared AI capabilities, including orchestration frameworks, SDKs, runtime services, and agentic choreography solutions built on emerging interoperability standards such as A2A (Agent-to-Agent) and MCP (Model Context Protocol).

You will also represent the AI Platform organization in executive forums, guiding strategy and communicating outcomes while fostering a culture of technical excellence, curiosity, and continuous innovation.

What the role offers:

As Senior Director, AI Platform and Products, you will:

  • Defining and driving the vision and technical direction for enterprise-scale AI foundations and platforms in partnership with executive stakeholders.
  • Leading engineering and solution architecture initiatives for shared AI frameworks, orchestration runtimes, and developer enablement platforms.
  • Designing and guiding AI solution architectures that balance innovation, scalability, and security.
  • Translating emerging AI trends and technologies (A2A, MCP, LangGraph, CrewAI) into actionable engineering and product strategies.
  • Staying connected to the AI ecosystem, identifying opportunities from industry trends, research, and vendor developments.
  • Building relationships with AI partners and platform providers to infuse external innovation into internal strategy.
  • Driving incubation and innovation, converting exploratory work into reusable, production-grade capabilities.
  • Communicating complex strategies clearly to executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Fostering a culture of curiosity, learning, and hands-on technical depth across engineering teams.

What you need to succeed:

  • 12+ years of experience in engineering, AI solutions, or platform product leadership, including 5+ years in AI/ML or GenAI.
  • Proven success leading engineering or AI platform teams delivering frameworks, orchestration systems, or enterprise AI solutions.
  • Strong solution architecture background, with experience designing and evaluating complex AI platform integrations.
  • Hands-on familiarity with agentic frameworks and modern orchestration tools such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, ADK, or similar ecosystems.
  • Understanding of LLMs, agentic architectures, orchestration runtimes, and model integration techniques.
  • Deep technical curiosity and awareness of industry trends, open standards, and agentic interoperability.
  • Experience collaborating with cloud and model providers (AWS, Azure, Google Vertex, Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.).
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills that connect technical depth with business strategy.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $229,040.00 - $376,280.00; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
