Job Description




As a Security Guard - Armed Government Site Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, supporting a secure environment for all who visit and work there. You will conduct regular patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service. This is an armed post, requiring professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate communication and de-escalation techniques.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and promote a secure environment.
  • Interact with visitors, employees, and others at the location to address inquiries and provide guidance according to site-specific policies.
  • Document incidents, observations, and activities accurately and promptly as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter unwanted activity and provide reassurance to staff and guests.
  • Carry a firearm and follow all applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies regarding armed security-related duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
  • Hold a current armed guard card or armed guard license as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent such as a GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
