Job Summary
The Senior Business Analyst, Pasha Maritime develops complex analysis, reporting, interpretation, operational and financial data for the Pasha Maritime division of Pasha Stevedoring & Terminals.

Primary Objectives
  • Analyze complex data, identify discrepancies, and present operational metrics and reporting to Senior Management.
  • Manage vessel and terminal billing, flash report data, and budget preparation.
  • Produce financial analysis and recommendations for initiatives that support overall division goals.
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with commercial customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Audit and analyze business data from internal and external resources to create a variety of routine and complex operational performance metrics.
  • Identify, analyze, and report variances to budget and forecast.
  • Produce analytics and reporting to support annual customer contract negotiations and rate development for commercial accounts.
  • Manage customer billing and related financial reporting.
  • Oversee and manage Account Receivables (AR) ensuring timely receipt of payments.
  • Partner with Union OCU to create customer facing billing invoices.
  • Partner with Operations teams to collect appropriate documents to create financial reports and invoices.
  • Develop and deliver regular reporting and analysis on divisional operational and cost performance.
  • Establish, maintain and develop data driven analysis and recommendations for the improvement of process controls ensuring operational consistency and adherence to established enterprise policy and procedures.
  • Identify analytical requirements and data sources to produce ad hoc reports.
  • Develop metrics to generate and monitor divisional volume budget estimates.
  • Prepare, review, and present divisional reporting including discrepancy resolution and operational, costing, and revenue performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in a directly-related field required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Work Experience
  • 5+ years' experience in data analysis, with an emphasis on maritime operations, port practices, and customer service required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business and management principles and best practices involved in stevedore operations and account management.
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to apply best practices relating to financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, use logic and reasoning to review related information, develop and evaluate options, reach conclusions, and implement solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply operational metrics from proprietary software.
  • Ability to interact effectively and develop strong working relationships with executive management, operations management, customers, vendors, longshore personnel and others both internally and externally.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency using MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

The salary range listed is based on the geographic zone associated with this role: Wilmington, CA. Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.
Zone 2: $90,000 - $115,000
This job is also eligible for participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on eligible compensation and corporate/individual performance goal attainment.
Annual Incentive Opportunity: 10% of eligible compensation
