 The Cardiology Care Assistant functions in support of the Invasive Cardiology procedure lab teams to ensure that the procedure room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.  Clinical Excellence//Departmental Support 
 Participates in team effort to accomplish efficient room turnover per department guidelines and Infection Control Policy which includes but is not limited to:
  
   Sweeping/mopping floorsPlacing equipment in an orderly fashionCollecting/distributing clean/soiled linenCollecting and transporting hazardous wasteTransports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bedChanging bed linensObtaining supplies and restocking procedure roomsTransporting specimensOpening sterile suppliesTransporting instruments and case carts to/from Sterile ProcessingCleans assigned areas in the departments by washing furniture, tile, fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions.Understands usage of standard precautions, personal protective equipment, and isolation precautions. Patient Care 
 Performs assigned patient care duties as needed and/or delegated to, which may include:
  
   Monitoring department schedules to ensure that the patient arrives on the unit in a timely manner.Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bedPerforms linen changes on stretchers and bedsTransfer patient from stretcher or bed to procedure tableResponds to patient needs promptlyAids other team members as requiredPositioning and prepping patients according to guidelinesApplying monitors to the patient Qualifications
 
 High school diploma or equivalentMust possess current basic life support (BLS) certification or obtain within 3 months of hire
Basic computer knowledge using Microsoft Office, web browser, and emailDemonstrates competency in aseptic technique upon completion of orientationUse of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.Call responsibilities may be associated with this position.
