As a Bench Operator (Blender) you'll set up and operate a variety of hand tools such as hammers, files, dremel's, drills, presses, pedestal grinders and belt grinders, low temperature ovens and hand grinders to perform various operations such as blending, blasting & stripping, chasing threads, deburring, angle checking, coldworking metals, masking.

**Entry level position in aviation, no previous experience needed. We will train qualified candidates.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct airfoil blending on a variety of Compressor Turbine Engine Blades utilizing the correct blending materials and techniques to restore the correct profile and contour of the Turbine Engine Blades per the Engine Manuals.
  • Receive, clean, inspect and prepare blades for production.
  • Ensure maintenance operations are performed in the appropriate sequence.
  • Ensure that all test equipment or tools used to make airworthiness determinations is labeled in accordance with the RSQM before use.
  • Complete the appropriate paperwork.
  • Complete all maintenance or alteration processes IAW established standard work processes.
  • Chemical Cleaning - Receive, clean, inspect and prepare blades for production.
  • Dimensional inspection on blades.
  • Perform core checks on incoming blades.
  • Generate work scopes (routers).
  • Support cell personnel with the performance and appropriate documentation of maintenance or alterations performed.
  • Confirm quality of work performed through routine in-process checks.
  • Track and communicate status of assigned work orders to ensure on time delivery is met.
  • Cover for absent team members to avoid interrupting the flow.
  • Perform start-up and shut down activities of the production facility as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting manuals, technical drawings, and/or blueprints.
  • 1+ years of experience with hand tools, power tools, and/or test equipment/machinery.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance.
  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Understand, speak, read and write English.
  • Must be able to train in 1st shift before moving to 2nd shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working on aircraft parts.
  • Experience with measuring tools like measuring gauges.
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Enjoys variety in their work and is flexible to support different areas of the shop as priorities shift day to day.
  • Team player attitude and flexible with leaning in to assist with duties outside work scope.
