      Registered Nurses in the Satellite Infusion departments of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at UC Davis Medical Center provide care to adults with a variety of medical needs. Patient conditions include oncology and non-oncology diagnoses (hematology, oncology, endocrine, rheumatology, gastrointestinal, genetic, renal, neurologic, and pulmonary disorders) The Satellite Infusion Nurse Manager collaborates with the Director of Oncology Services and the Medical Director of Adult Infusion to support the excellence and functioning of the Adult Infusion program. The Satellite Infusion Nurse Manager has oversight and responsibility for the AN lls, LVNs, and RNs (CNII, CN Ill Infusion Nurses) in Satellite Infusion sites. The Satellite Infusion Nurse Manager interacts with the entire multidisciplinary clinical team, including, interaction with Adult Infusion Nurse Manager and staff, Pediatric Infusion Nurse Manager and staff, Adult Clinic Nurse Manager, AN II and staff, Radiation Oncology Nurse Manager and Staff, Cancer Center Practice Manager, Cancer Center supervisors, physicians, and nurse practitioners to assure clinical excellence and smooth coordination of patient care. Programmatically, the Satellite Infusion Nurse Manager will assist in the growth and development, expansion or new program offerings including, but not limited to additional weekend hours, additional weekday hours, outpatient infusion for Bone Marrow Transplant, etc. The Satellite Infusion Nurse Manager must have at least 3 years of nursing experience in the care of patients in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting (Adult Infusion- at least 1 year required in an infusion setting), have a BS in Nursing and master's degree in nursing or another related field. If master's degree is not completed, applicant must complete within three years of hire. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of nursing management experience, in addition to the skills and abilities specified.  Department Overview The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies. The Nurse Manager will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The Nurse Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, supports research, participates in both long- and short-term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy. The Nurse Manager is accountable to the Director, Oncology Services.
