Job Description

Performs manual and clerical duties related to the preparation and shipment of customer samples, components and finished products mailed primarily through Fed Ex, UPS, USPS or other similar carrier. Maintain necessary files and documentation. Utilizes small hand tools and operate scales, metering machines, etc. and primarily use hand trucks to move materials around. Typical shipping activities include: checking goods against shipping documents and authorizations, packing goods for shipment according to specifications, preparing bills of lading, posting weight and shipping charges and attach information and shipping instructions on to boxes. May occasionally perform activities related to the receiving materials such as unpacking of goods; checking against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., identification and quantity; maintaining records of goods received; rejects damaged, excess or misdirected goods, routes material to inspection, stores or other destinations. May require operation of a forklift truck.


Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of related experience (Preferred)

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES

  • Required Certifications/Licensures: (Fork Lift License)

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Good mechanical ability. Ability to work on a team with minimal supervision. Ability to handle a fast-paced repetitive position. Ability to work a 12-hour shift with overtime requirements.

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE UTILIZED

  • Forklift, clamp truck, pallet jack and other powered industrial trucks as assigned.

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

Able to read and comprehend simple instructions and document data. Maintain open communications with team members, leadership, and other departments.

DECISION MAKING

Ability to follow and carry out written or oral instructions to properly complete assigned tasks. Ability to determine the need for escalating issues to leadership.

OTHER

Responsible for training and supporting new and existing team members.

Assist other areas of the Warehouse as needed.

Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $15.84 to $16.73/ hour. The salary range may be adjusted

based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the

future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and

compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency,

performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation

package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD's benefit

offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with

company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental
