Reporting into the Vice President, Gateway and Clearinghouse Products, the Product Director, Platform is responsible for defining and executing Availity's platform product strategy, with a strong focus on platform modernization, API enablement, and interoperability. This leader will drive the evolution of core platform capabilities that power Availity's provider engagement platform and payer-provider network, ensuring the business can scale, innovate, and deliver seamless connectivity across the healthcare ecosystem.

Availity's platform supports billions of real-time and batch transactions each year, connecting providers, provider vendors, and payers through critical digital infrastructure. This role will lead the strategy for modernizing platform services and integration capabilities that enable the secure, scalable exchange of information across eligibility and benefits, authorizations, claims, reimbursement, and other key healthcare workflows. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern platform architecture, API strategy, interoperability standards, and healthcare data exchange, with the ability to translate complex technical investments into customer value and business growth.

The Product Director, Platform will focus on driving long-term value creation by shaping a platform roadmap that improves extensibility, scalability, partner connectivity, and speed to market. They will lead product innovation, manage strategic investments, and work cross-functionally to identify new opportunities to strengthen Availity's platform capabilities and expand market impact. This person will play a critical role in defining reusable platform services, advancing integration strategies, guiding modernization efforts, and ensuring the value of these investments is clearly understood throughout the organization and the market. They will also manage key aspects of the portfolio P&L, prioritize investments, support business case development, and partner across the enterprise to deliver commercial results.

To be qualified for this position you:

  • 10 years of experience managing in managing health information products with at least 5 years in leadership role.
  • Have 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Bring proven success managing complex software products, platforms, or shared services from strategy through execution and launch.
  • Have deep expertise in platform modernization, including evolving legacy capabilities into scalable, modular, API-driven platforms.
  • Bring strong experience with API strategy, platform services, developer enablement, and systems integration.
  • Have knowledge of healthcare data standards and interoperability frameworks including HIPAA, X12, and FHIR, with experience ensuring compliance in regulated environments.
  • Understand the pain points and opportunities in digital connectivity between health plans, providers, and technology partners.
  • Have experience building business cases, defining market and product requirements, managing roadmaps, and driving financial and operational performance.
  • Demonstrate strong product discovery skills and the ability to identify unmet market needs and translate them into compelling platform strategies.
  • Have a proven track record of driving adoption, scale, and growth for interoperability, integration, or platform-based products.
  • Highly effective influencing across technical and business teams and working within complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Build trust, durable partnerships, and alignment across internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable serving as a change agent and leading through transformation.
  • Possess excellent strategic thinking, communication, business analysis, and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare, Computer Science, or a related field.

What you will be doing:

  • Defining and executing the platform product strategy and modernization roadmap.
  • Leading the evolution of core platform capabilities, shared services, APIs, and integration frameworks.
  • Driving interoperability strategy to improve connectivity across providers, payers, partners, and healthcare technology ecosystems.
  • Identifying market opportunities and unmet needs, then translating them into platform investments that drive scale, adoption, and growth.
  • Partnering closely with engineering and architecture leaders to ensure technical feasibility, architectural alignment, scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Expanding the platform's reach and value through reusable services, partner enablement, ecosystem integrations, and product line extensions.
  • Owning platform-related go-to-market strategy in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and other stakeholders.
  • Developing market insight through direct customer and partner engagement, advisory relationships, and ongoing research.
  • Building business cases, prioritizing investments, and managing key aspects of portfolio performance and P&L.
  • Monitoring product, customer, and operational metrics and using those insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating across Product, Marketing, IT, Sales, Service, and executive leadership to align priorities and deliver results.
  • Evaluating strategic partnerships that accelerate platform capabilities or improve delivery of product outcomes.
  • Representing Availity in industry and customer-facing settings by communicating thought leadership, platform value, and innovation strategy.
