Summary of Job Description:

The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for strategic sourcing strategies related to assigned PRG products.This position develops, and executes the selection, evaluation, and negotiation for PRG items, ensuring that the suppliers selected fit Panda's culture and philosophy, have the necessary capacity, and provide the items at the best price and the specified quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Owns and leads the development and execution using the 10-step strategic sourcing process for PRG products in support of its business strategy and plan. Identifies suppliers and arranges optimal contracts in terms of pricing, quality, timing, and supply availability over the term of the contract.Advises SCM Leadership on the availability of specific products and pricing, pre-qualifying new suppliers and facilities in terms of price, safety, capacity, and quality.Ensures costs are within budget.
  • Evaluates potential suppliers in coordination with FSQA and other stakeholders to ensure safety for consumption.Negotiates with new suppliers over cost and collaborates with Supply Management team to bring products into distribution.
  • Responsible for leading the supplier selection and negotiation processes, along with executing sourcing activities. Independently develops new product and supplier options to support overall business strategy and growth.
  • Establishes and maintains strong supplier relationships, optimizing sourcing strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.Leads Quarterly Business Reviews, communicates with suppliers concerning all aspects of the partnership including PRG philosophy and growth plans and aligns suppliers with Panda to support our growth.Responsible for supplier performance and evaluates the effectiveness and fitness of suppliers to determine our procurement strategy.
  • Collaborates with PMO and/or supports cross-functional projects with other departments and Operation related to product specifications, quality inquiries, product recall, sourcing new ingredients, testing new products, and phasing in products within distribution.
  • Supports company special events in terms of sponsorship and procurement.Provides products for events as requested.May solicit suppliers as potential sponsors of charity events.
  • Supports globalsourcingof products for both domestic and international operations as needed.
  • Responsible to fully understand assigned categories as a commodity expert. Tracks commodities markets on prices and supply and communicates findings to Sourcing Leadership.Recommends changes in recipes based on commodity markets in order to keep quality and costs within budget. Recommends best timing to introduce and promote new or current products.

Your background & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent field required; CPSM certification preferred
  • Minimum five years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in a multi-unit food service and/or manufacturing organization.
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required training (including but not limited to store training, Recognizing & Preventing Sexual Harassment training, Conscious inclusion training, and Landmark Forum, etc.)
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.

Pay Range: P3: $43.26 - $66.82 / per hour

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
