GENERAL SUMMARY

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for providing daily supervision and work direction to the planners and buyers to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements most efficiently and cost-effectively while functioning as a working buyer or planner. This consists of, but is not limited to, the execution of all purchasing functions and requirements for the purchase of materials, equipment, supplies, and services in conjunction with all planning and scheduling systems & processes.

This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK's hybrid work schedule.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Supervise, evaluate, and coach team members.
  • Ensures that the company's standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions.
  • Lead/participate in all materials department projects as assigned.
  • Functions as a primary backup to materials team members for extended absences.

    • Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications
    • Plan material requirements
    • Plan production schedules


  • Provides leadership in Lean Manufacturing implementation.
  • Work with the Materials Manager to develop and maintain reports, analytics, and metrics.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree with business/materials emphasis or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience planning with an MRP system and working knowledge of a job shop environment or equivalent.
  • APICS certified or equivalent experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a necessity.
  • Ability to provide and give work direction within the department and communicate with all aspects/areas of the company.
  • Attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy.
  • General Office computer skills. Ability to understand and navigate in Excel - ability to analyze large amounts of data and combine data from multiple sources.
  • Requires effective communication skills in working with all departments.
  • Ability to understand Bills of Material, prints, and manufacturing processes is helpful.
  • Valve product knowledge is an asset, but needs to excel at problem-solving and have the ability to constantly re-establish priorities.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
  • Position requires movement around the facilities.
  • Occasional handling of material and components.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

DeZURIK offers a competitive base salary in the $84,058 to $105,072 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
