The Corrosion Engineer will perform and review standard and enhanced cathodic protection (CP) assessments in accordance with applicable requirements for clients across the United States. They are accountable for handling specific technical aspects of these projects and functioning on multidisciplinary teams as both participants and leaders. They are responsible for implementing quality design control for the designs and projects under their control. Projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to design projects.

Expected Outcomes:
  • Direct the project, ensuring the efficient and timely completion of the project to the client's satisfaction and in compliance with scope of work and quality and professional standards.
  • Ensure that projects are completed in a cost-efficient manner with adherence to budgetary constraints. Provide the client with the best results at the lowest practical cost.
  • Lead the technical support personnel for assigned projects. Assume responsibility for validating the work of professional and technical staff assigned to each project.
  • Consult with and advise clients regarding methods, equipment, and other items pertinent to the project.
  • Plan and schedule projects ensuring appropriate levels of staffing, contractors, and other necessary resources. Ensure effective use of human and other resources throughout the project. Perform limited project financial analyses including budgetary estimates and estimates to complete.
  • Maintain regular and effective two-way communication (verbal and written) with the Project Manager (PM) (and client, as required) to ensure effective understanding of project deliverables, concerns, and progress from project initiative through completion.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and opportunities to build on their existing base of experience and improve their breadth of knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET)-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • NACE CP-2 or CP-3 Certification
  • Ability to travel, mostly within the U.S.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in performing Close Interval Surveys on pipelines and External Corrosion Direct Assessment surveys on buried CP protected pipelines.
  • Ability to handle field survey equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot cathodic protection systems and make minor repairs
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work
  • Independent proficiency in application of their technical field.
  • Ability to effectively lead a project team.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and present engineering concepts, designs, and data.
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to carry out multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided analysis and drafting technologies.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $79,950-$105,678-$131,200
